However, India’s water crisis isn’t due to the fact that India experiences long droughts and lack of rainfall. In fact, India’s water crisis is largely down to structural mismanagement of the available water resources.

It’s estimated over 300,000 people die of waterborne diseases in India - which is only slightly surpassed by the total number of people who have died due to the novel coronavirus in India.
